Twos Program
Structure, routines, and early independence

The Twos Program at Wonderland Kids Academy is designed to support the developmental needs of two-year-olds in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. At this age, children benefit most from predictable routines, gentle guidance, and consistent care.

Our program focuses on building emotional security, early independence, and social awareness while supporting each child at their individual pace.

Learning & Development

Children engage in developmentally appropriate activities that support:
• Language development and early communication
• Fine and gross motor skills
• Colors, shapes, music, and creative art
• Sensory play and guided exploration

Activities are short, purposeful, and aligned with toddlers’ attention spans.

Routines, Sleep & Emotional Support

Consistent daily routines help children feel calm and secure. The daily schedule includes:
• Structured group activities
• Mealtimes
• Rest time, with individual cots provided in accordance with Illinois licensing requirements

Teachers support children through transitions and emotional moments with patience and positive guidance.

Diapering & Potty Learning

• Diapering is provided for children who are not yet toilet trained, following all Illinois health and safety regulations
• Potty learning is supported when children show readiness, in partnership with families
• Handwashing and hygiene routines are reinforced throughout the day

Classroom Environment & Care

Classrooms are designed specifically for toddlers and meet all Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) requirements. Low teacher-to-child ratios ensure close supervision, individualized attention, and strong teacher-child connections.

Nutritious meals and snacks are provided daily to support healthy growth and consistent routines.

Preparing for Preschool

The Twos Program provides a strong foundation for preschool by helping children develop confidence, structure, and early self-help skills — without pressure or unrealistic expectations.
